“It is the astonishing philosophy of the artist, which is the source of her uncommon statement. …unlike in fine arts we know, Vera Nova paintings are born without the premeditation, inspiration of any image, dream, idea or natural or modeled settings–or even a previously prepared/rendered sketch. Nevertheless, she goes beyond this:
‘It is a matter of great importance for me to have No Preconceived Emotions before starting a painting. No inspiration of any sort.’
It is the artist rule not to express anything pre-seen, or felt. ‘The painting puts me into a completely unexpected state of sensibility.. As in Nature, the act of true creation, is always an unknown experience! In my paintings I must ultimately surprise myself, as a wondering traveler into the Unknown.’
Vera Nova has succeeded in creating a magnetic, hypnotizing effect. Nova works are emotionally radiating. The powerful attraction of her unique existence entices the viewer. One wants to escape into it, to be lost there in joyful wonder.
